Working with the limitations of space in our modern urban environments, the landscape architect Michael Hellgren has created an array of vertical gardens to reconnect us with the natural environment.
The process of designing lasting vertical gardens came about through studying soilless gardens in nature and mimicking the findings. Every garden that Hellgren creates takes into account the specifics of the location that it’s designed for (e.g. climate, sun exposure, and surrounding context).
