Miss Exotic World
The Miss Exotic World Pageant is an annual burlesque pageant and convention, and is the annual showcase event for the Burlesque Hall of Fame. The pageant, sometimes referred to as the “Miss America of Burlesque,” attracts former burlesque queens from past decades, as well as current participants of the neo-burlesque scene.
Miss Beautiful Bottom
Finalists at this competition held in Munich vie for a modelling contract and prize money of 10,000 euros. The judges only get to see the bottoms and not any part of the men’s or women’s body.
Miss Condom
A bevy of Thai bar girls, health officials and a transvestite blow up condoms and parade for a different kind of honour – the title of Miss Condom Asia-Pacific. Featuring 20 contestants from four different nations, the contest aims to promote safe sex in Thailand – a country on the frontline in the war against HIV/AIDS in Asia. But instead of twirling batons or warbling show tunes, competitors wow the judges with their condom-blowing prowess and knowledge about the virus.
Miss Artificial Beauty
This Chinese pageant is where fakers and cheaters walk away with the cake. China holds the Miss Artificial beauty contest, exclusively for women who have had plastic surgery. All contestants have to provide a doctor’s certificate to prove that they have had surgical alteration. Plastic surgery is a booming business in China, and those who have acquired beauty through surgery are called “renzao meinu” (man-made beauties).
